This is the about page for the DAECleaner utility.

This utility is designed to strip out extraneous information from a Collada (DAE) file exported from 3DS Max 2010 using the Collada Nextgen DAE Exporter.

Couple of important things to note:

    * Only tested on DAE files generated with the OpenCOLLADA exporter, from 3DS Max 2010 - as always don't save over your original DAE file!

    * If you want to load zipped DAE's without hassle, use my DAEz Papervision3D class

    * If you choose "I'll supply my own MaterialsList", you will have to provide materials programmatically in your Actionscript project - to create your MaterialsList in Actionscript you can use the material names listed in the datagrid after you load your model.

    * By default, the camera might be kinda far away from the origin, depending on the size of your model - but you can use your mousewheel to increase and decrease the scale of your loaded model

If you like the utility, hate it, or just want to see some improvements, please email me via my contact page
